Air Fryer Desserts

When my parents bought us an air fryer years ago for Christmas, I had my doubts about the thing. It's since become one of our most beloved kitchen appliances. It's used so often we don't even store it out of sight anymore. My teenager even uses it on the regular! But we don't make a lot of desserts with it, so I was wondering what everyone else made with their air fryers in terms of desserts.

National Gardening Day

April 14 is National Gardening Day, the perfect time to plan a garden, start some seeds, and really dig into your spring gardening plans. It does seem a little early to garden, though, especially since we're dipping into the 30s at night where I live and we may still have another frost before the year is up, so planting might not be in your best interest if you don't have room for starts indoors.

Virtual Reading Clubs

As much as many kids and adults are suffering from Zoom fatigue, we're still quite grateful for all of the online resources available to us, not only during the pandemic but especially those that are available all of the time, creating a more accessible world for people from more walks of life. Book clubs are one of many of these wonderful resources.

It's Black Maternal Health Week

Women of color are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women, but the problem goes even deeper than that. Doctors frequently ignore the pain and symptoms of Black women in particular, leaving them more vulnerable and unheard when it comes to their care. Doctors are starting to address these disparities but catching up is long overdue and needs to be implemented much more rapidly.

Drinking Your Greens

While we all know that eating our vitamins and minerals in food is the best way to get healthy, some of us just don't have enough hours in the day to eat that many meals or servings. Even those of us who shove greens in our smoothies (I always add spinach to mine) don't add enough to get the recommended vitamins for the day, and the fact that we've depleted the soil of vital nutrients to make our veggies even weaker doesn't help. Add to that the fact that my family doesn't like many veggies like I do and I'm looking for a good solution that's quick and easy.
