Nuclear Reactors 988 - International Energy Agency Reviews Canadian Nuclear Industry - Part 1 of 2 Parts

Part 1 of 2 Parts
The International Energy Agency (IEA) just published Canada 2022: Energy Policy Review. The last IEA review was published in 2015. The new review found that since 2015, Canada has made a series of enterprising international and domestic commitments. It has also made progress towards transforming its energy system.

Cat Killer Shouldn't Be Child Role Model

As a cat lover, it is really difficult for me to imagine someone purposefully killing cats. East Bay Regional Park Districtt biologist Dave Riensche, who calls himself “Doc Quack," murdered 18 cats or more in 2020 with a shotgun when the cats crossed onto park land. He's obviously killed more and for a longer time, since he gave a much higher estimate when originally asked, saying he was thinking of prior locations before the one in question. He even bragged about taking out "a baker's dozen" of cats to coworkers.

New Impossible Food Finds

New "Impossible" foods are popping up everywhere in 2022, making it easier for many people to eat vegetarian, particularly on the go. There are lots of new Impossible products to try making at home, too.

These Impossible Chicken Nuggets from Impossible Foods are packed with protein like the real thing, and they're breaded for a crunchy bite. They also have no cholesterol. Fans of Impossible Foods may already know that the company also offers Impossible Burgers, Sausage, Pork and Meatballs.

Wood-Burning Craft Ideas

Recently my teen's girlfriend gave me a gorgeous piece of wood burning art as a holiday gift and wow, was it beautiful! It really made me appreciate the art and wonder just how it's done. This artist is certainly very skilled at it, and my teen says that she's been learning how to do it for a long time, and is self-taught via online videos.

Humpback Whales are Drowning

The Center for Biological Diversity is suing the United States government over the devastating loss of humpback whales due to their entanglements in sablefish pot gear, which the government is failing to regulate well for the protection of ocean life. Whales drowning almost sounds impossible since they live in the ocean, but they're mammals and need to come up for air. That's where the fishing gear comes into play.

The Betty White Challenge

Most people were devasted to hear not only the passing of Betty White, but also that the beloved actress and activist died just before her 100th birthday. In honor of Betty White's birthday, fans across the nation opted to donate to various animal charities and rescue operations. Tens of thousands of dollars were given to Metro Detroit shelters alone, while single places like the L.A. Zoo received over $70,000.

MariPili Tapas Bar is Coming to Seattle

Tapas are my favorite food, hands-down, so hearing that Seattle is getting a tapas bar is very exciting. MariPili Tapas Bar is moving into Capitol Hill’s Cafe Presse's old location after it sadly had to close. The bar will serve food with a Spanish-American focus and the new owner, Grayson Corrales, is from Spain. Previously Corrales was the pastry chef at JuneBaby and now she's opening up a tapas restaurant.

February 2022 Game Releases

February is slated to have many more new release games in 2022 than March, and there are several games for folks to get excited about during the coldest month. Life is Strange is at the top of the list, and it's releasing on several platforms, and fans of episodic graphic games are excited about this one. A few other highlights are Lost Ark, Rumbleverse, Horizon: Forbidden West and Elden Ring.
